After graduating from Gobelins L’école de l’image in 1984, Francois Moret worked in various areas of the 2D animation industry for fifteen years. From animation to storyboarding, with a particular focus on layout, colour and environments, he then moved onto acting as Art Director and Director on commercials and music videos in Paris studios and at the turn of century he began working on 2D/ CG projects.
He was production designer on Eric Bergeron’s A Monster In Paris in 2010 and then oversaw a number of feature films in development as Art Director, before moving onto Mark Osborne’s The Little Prince working on the visual development, tonal concepts and set design. He was Art Director on Garth Jennings’ Sing in 2015, Production Designer on Eric Warin & Tahir Rana’s Charlotte in 2019, whilst also working on a number of commercials in the concept art and visual development fields with the likes of Sergio Pablos Animation, Superprod, Locksmith, DNEG, Passion Pictures and Red Knuckles. Recently he was art director on Stephen Donnelly’s Scrooge: A Christmas Carol in 2022.
